Art???

Not being the most creative of sorts, a visit to see the boundary pushing Gilbert and George exhibition last week was an interesting experience. While I accept that their use of colour is interesting, and that popart is always going to be a touch repetative in such circumstances, I must admit that I just didn't get it.
It just seemed that these guys discovered a really interesting technical way of producing art, with bold colours, and then used extreme messaging to shock. Apologies if I'm either trying to be too deep, or just not getting the depth that is there, but it just didn't speak to me.
Really intereseting, and I would recommend people went to experience it, but for me the political message which they claim to be preaching is lost in the extreme graphics and huge amount of shit (and thats a literal statement).
Oh - and if you don't want to see a lot of pictures of them then don't go. Especially as in many cases you'll see little Gilbert and George on full display!
